Wow, this month is closing out with an unexpected pleasant surprise. As I’m juggling multiple projects, the ups and downs of quarantine, and the impending terror that is the news, I find out that our beloved @walkawayfilm is finally available to watch on @amazonprimevideo. To say this life is a roller coaster right now is well... actually I don’t know if there exists a metaphor for it at the moment; none that I can think of anyway. I was torn between this photo and a more eye catching one of me covered in fake blood, but I figure with all that’s going on in the world right now, we could all do with a bit less gore on social media. I’ll leave it to you to go ahead and watch the movie if you so choose – that way you have control over your own carnage intake. Plus, I’m feeling much more emotional and missing the Walk Away film fam as I share this news with you. Such an amazing group of people who’s only mission was to create a story and have an incredibly fun time doing it. I miss you all. For all you horror fans, and even horror haters, I think this film is one for the books. It’s got heart, and style, some action, and a tasteful amount of scariness. I’m feeling a bit somber today. Missing my beautiful Mother and wishing there was a way to spend the day with her in person. At least we have FaceTime, but still... there’s nothing that can replace her loving presence or warm embrace. I’m so grateful for you Mom; now more than ever. You’ve been the one and only pillar of strength and unconditional love throughout my life. Thank you for every sacrifice and for never giving up. You’ve set a prime example of how to survive and stay sane in this unreasonable world. I’ll be longing for the days we can cook and eat together while listening to @milesdavis or one of your favorites, @dianakrall. Happy Mother’s Day to you Mamma Bocko, and to all the mothers and Mother figures out there. You are loved and appreciated beyond belief.

Imagine if you were stuck inside and couldn’t leave?? If the world around you just wouldn’t let you venture out and be free??? . ...oh.. wait... that’s actually happening right now. Thanks Coronavirus 🤦🏻‍♂️ . It’s too weird that @saymattnashreallyfast & @jaydeagan made a film about this exact concept, and now the whole world is on lockdown 😂 . Walk away is a story of 5 friends who unexpectedly get stuck in an endless vacation. Sound familiar? What happens when they can’t leave the cabin they were so excited to escape to? Will they find a way to get out? Or will they encounter the fear we’ve always known: Hell is other people? . The screening that was going to happen today at the @brattletheatre was sadly canceled, but for good reason of course. After all this subsides there will be a new date for this film to be shown, so something to look forward to while we’re all in quarantine mode. Sometimes works of art find a way to hold on and not let go. Although I think it was Leonardo da Vinci who said “Art is never finished, only abandoned.” . This little film has come a long way since we first started shooting back in 2017. Literally 3 years ago to the day this past Friday. What started out as a creative exploration among friends and classmates, has gradually become a serious undertaking to bring a unique and anomalous story to a wider audience. . Thank you to everyone who has helped bring this story to life over the past three years. We’re slowly nearing the finish line as we work with @iangrcymore designing sound and @hek_ops to lay in some tantalizing VFX. Then we’ll be moving forward into the festival circuit to see where it takes us. . If you’re ever thinking that it’s too late to finish out a project or bring it to the next level, or you feel like you’ve past the point of no return and it seems like what you made is dead in the water, please, do yourself and your art a favor, turn around, and pick it back up. It will be difficult, maybe a little scary. But it is one of the most rewarding experiences to overcome the obstacles and breathe new life into something that is seemingly concluded. . Keep an eye out for more updates on our short film called Gamut. There’s really no telling where this thing will take us. But what’s clear is that the road so far has been extremely fulfilling. 🙏🏼

A little training session today with @pyro4pk working on a real fun line. I love getting to merge my love of camera work with my love of movement. Me last week recovering from the past two months 💀 . JK, this is a screenshot from the Pilot I was in called “Made In Rhode Island.” Still an accurate portrayal tho. 😂 I’m a little behind on the posts lately since I’ve been trudging and sprinting and dancing along through the beginning of this year. Lot’s of exciting things have happened, and it’s been fun as hell. Many of you I was lucky enough to see in person for the first time in years! You know who you are. 😉 But it’s also been quite taxing in the end. Seriously, I’m pretty sure this is what I looked like last week. That little Oscars viewing party I went to was the last straw. Luckily I’m back on the up-swing so I’ll be able to endure more party-fun-times this weekend. . Happy New Year friends! This will be an interesting & fruitful one for sure. I can feel it. Seems like many of the changes I made and risks I took in 2019 have set in & laid a strong but complicated foundation for something great to come. I don’t know what any of it will be, though. Granted, there is always change, growth, & the unknown that exists around every corner, but 2020 feels exceptionally clouded by an air of “who tf knows 🤷🏻‍♂️” . Anyone feel the same way? There’s a lot to be unsure about in the upcoming year, but in my opinion, I don’t see that as a bad thing. Nor does it have to be that scary. I’m standing in front of what feels like a mysterious wall of fog, and I keep reminding myself to embrace the unknown. Let go of the things I don’t have the power to change, but trust that I have what it takes to change the things I can. I’m feeling excited for what’s to come, even though I have no idea what it may be. . I remember as a kid, how fun it was to venture through and become surrounded by a bed of fog in a field or on a road. Nothing else mattered except that moment, and the experience of feeling the cool damp air around me while seeing the world in a different way. Why not look at this year in the same way? . Today, as I prepare to step into this wall of fog, I’m also remembering that patience is one of the most important things to have when anticipating the fruits of my labor. I’ve planted the seeds, and all I need is to provide a steady balance of sunlight & water to cultivate & let them grow. Otherwise, I have to let them be. . If you’re feeling any fears or doubts about stepping into this year, don’t worry, you’re not alone. I’m right here with you, and we’ll be braving the unknown together. Last Friday I worked with some of my @themovementcreative friends at an awesome Holiday Party for @thecliffslic . It was so much fun to watch athletes from a totally different background venture into another world of movement. Seemed like everyone had a great time and some definitely pushed themselves out of their comfort zones. 🙌🏼 . Here’s me doing just that after seeing this fun line of movement through the course.
